Welcome to my Rides Like These website. Several years ago, 2013 to be specific, I decided to begin cycling competitively, albeit at a grandfather’s pace.  I scoured cycling sites, blogs, books and magazines for information on how to get things rolling. And I listened intently to the experts at my local bike shop about big issues and little details. Mostly, though, I learned the nuances of riding road bikes and touring by putting in countless hours in the saddle.

One of my goals with this site is to share some of the knowledge I’ve gained, and I’m sure I’ll expand my base of information by reading what you have to contribute to the cause. I hope you enjoy the photos and descriptions of my life as I explore our wonderful world one pedal stroke at a time.

For those of you who don’t ride, WELCOME! Maybe, just maybe, you’ll be inspired to pull that old bike of yours from under all the cardboard boxes you have in your garage, climb in the saddle, and begin riding just as I did several years ago.
